Free events for National Indigenous Peoples Day 2019

June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day! Don't miss the opportunity to celebrate and learn more about the cultural diversity of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples by participating in the many activities in East Van and beyond. 

Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre 
Friday, June 21, 2019
9 to 11 am at Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre (1607 East Hastings Street, Vancouver)
12 to 5 pm at Trout Lake (3350 Victoria Drive, Vancouver)

The Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre is hosting the following festivities on National Indigenous Peoples Day:

Pancake Breakfast: The breakfast will be held from 9 to 11 am at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre.
Friendship Walk: The parade will start at 11 am at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre and will make its way to Trout Lake along Commercial Drive.
Community Festival: The festival will be held from 12 to 5 pm at Trout Lake where there will be community festivities, including entertainment, vendors and an art display.


Oppenheimer Park

This community-led celebration is a highlight of the year, featuring performances and entertainment, food service, vendor's village, community connections, crafts and children's activities.

The event is free and open to all! Please feel free to bring your drum and wear your regalia.

This event is not possible without the help of volunteers! Sign up to volunteer on Tue Jun 11th ***NEW DATE*** at Carnegie Centre (10am-1pm) or Oppenheimer Park (1:30pm-4:30pm).
